Just tell me that you hate me
And don’t want me in your life
Aren’t driven to me anymore
Or have found shinier illusions
Or are confident of finding those,
And that’s dropped me down to oblivion in your priority list.
Tell me you have more important things to do in life
than waste time on an emotional fool like me.
Tell me our talks with each other
were but a stream that dried midway
and never reached the sea.
Tell me that your emotions have dried,
And that you’ve healed from me
just like you heal from an unwanted illness.
Tell me you see happiness and joy in your life
without me and not with me.
Tell me how every time I trusted you, you felt suspicious,
Every time I shed my usual armour and became tender like the fresh sun, you took it as an expression of weakness.
That every time I loved you, you felt a threat to your individuality.
Tell me that I misread you.
That you were never the jolly, sparkling soul I fell for,
but a calculated player of human emotions.
That I was merely another number rolling down the roulette.
Poor me.
